image manipulation program ?

hi all, whats the easiest and free program to use to manipulate images. like removing text without changing the image. can one of these programs coexsit with infanview which i already have...thank you

easiest? hmm.. well go for the most powerful and learn it instead, it will give you more in the long run and also.. it aint that hard!

GIMP and Paint.NET i would say is as good as it get when free...

And remember it wont break if you try new buttons and there are loads of tutorials out there, have FUN!

ok one more question?

...is there any other way to remove text other than the cloning tool? using this tool is either hit or miss depending upon the image, correct ?...thanks
